Julayga Alfred joined the organisation in October 2004 when Anex was very much a one man show. Her mandate then was to raise the profile of Anex CDW as a child right’s organisation, focusing on child domestic work. Her vision, hard work and commitment to improving the lives of children has contributed to the development of the organisation and placing the issue of child domestic labour within the public domain.


Office Manager

Natasha Swain, born and bred Capetonian has a passion for numbers, she had completed her Financial and Accounting studies in August 2009. Natasha was appointed at Anex as the Office Manager, her role is to manage the financials, accounting and admin of the organization.


Counter Trafficking Project Coordinator


Matipa Mwamuka joined Anex as an intern in 2007 and  was appointed as the Counter trafficking project coordinator in 2008. Her role as the Counter Trafficking coordinator involves training and capacity building, awareness raising and managing the national human trafficking helpline. Matipa has a passion for women and children rights. She has a background in Organisational psychology and Labour Law.

Youth Coordinator

Claudette Pretorius joined the organisation in the beginning of 2009 to fill the rather large shoes of the previous youth coordinator.  She is a UCT graduate, where she had her first experiences of working in the civil sector.  The aspect she enjoys most about her work is the lessons learnt from the young people the organisation works with and seeing willingness from participants to make a change in not only their lives but the lives of those around them.
